We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join our team at New Hope Group. As a key member of our payroll team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, as well as maintaining compliance with statutory obligations.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll in a timely and accurate manner
- Manage statutory compliance obligations, including Superannuation, PAYGW, Payroll Tax, STP Reporting, and Workers Compensation Levy
- Coordinate Coal Long Service Leave processing
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for payroll processes
- Train and mentor junior team members
- Support payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of experience in processing Australian payrolls and managing complex payroll issues within the Mining/ Resources industry. You should have strong time management and multi-tasking abilities, as well as high-level computer proficiency, including intermediate MS Excel skills. Experience with mid-tier Payroll/HRIS systems and comprehensive understanding of statutory obligations and legislation is also essential.
