Job Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a volunteer in one of our Red Cross Shops.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to contribute to their community, put their skills into action, or gain new valuable skills and experiences.

About the Role

As a volunteer in one of our Red Cross Shops, you will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming and engaging customers
  • Processing transactions through point of sale, including cash and eftpos payments
  • Sorting and pricing donations
  • Creating vibrant displays to attract shoppers
  • Keeping the shop clean and tidy

You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of tasks, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and engage with customers in a friendly and positive manner
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, using cash and eftpos systems
  • Sort and price donations, and ensure they are displayed in an attractive and appealing way
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction
Requirements
  • A friendly and positive attitude, with good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to tasks and duties
  • Good time management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items, and work in a fast-paced environment

Other Information
  • Must be at least 15 years of age (QLD - must be 16)
  • Will require a National Police check, paid for by Red Cross
  • Will require completion of an Induction into our organisation and Retail program
