Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team. As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work with individuals who have various presentations, diagnoses, and disability types. Your primary responsibility will be to assess and observe participants' challenging behaviours and work towards increasing skills, improving emotion regulation, and introducing replacement behaviours to reduce the use of restrictive practices.
Our team provides clinical services to NDIS participants aged 0-65, working across early intervention, school age, adolescent, and adult services. You will work closely with allied health practitioners, support workers, and family members to achieve the best possible outcomes for your clients. You will develop a plan and implement it with training and regular follow-up and review.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and observe participants' challenging behaviours
• Develop and implement behaviour plans to increase skills and improve emotion regulation
• Work closely with allied health practitioners, support workers, and family members to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients
• Celebrate clients' achievements and form close bonds with them
Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you must hold qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts (BCBA), Teaching, Social Work, Social Sciences, Criminology, Childhood Education & Care, Health Science, or Nursing. Additionally, you must be registered as a Behaviour Practitioner with the NDIS or have the ability to become registered. Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and other complex diagnoses is highly desirable.
