Community outreach workers play a vital role in building strong relationships between the community and healthcare services. In this dynamic position, you will have the opportunity to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families living across Eastern Health's catchment area.

As a Community Outreach Worker - Aboriginal Health Team, you will be based at Healesville and work across Eastern Health. This role involves adopting a holistic approach, in line with cultural best-practice, and providing a range of services that are available both on-site in Healesville and through home visits and outreach.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • a relevant community services qualification
  • the ability to communicate and build connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • well-developed interpersonal skills, including an ability to communicate effectively with other staff, agencies, and community
  • the ability to practice both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • the ability to maintain records of tasks and activities taken on a daily basis
  • a strong commitment to high-quality care
  • the ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • excellent communication and organizational skills

Educational qualifications:

  • Australian Bachelor degree or higher in Community Services or related field
