Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team. As a key member of the production department, you will be responsible for delivering successful productions by executing and managing all production requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Contracting and Legal Compliance:
    • Draft employment contracts for cast, touring crew and musicians.
    • Casual crew contracting for pre-production and operating periods of the production.
    • Negotiate union agreements, company policies and procedures with relevant teams.
    • Maintain knowledge of certified agreements and employment conditions.
    • Manage contract-related processes, including upload to digital platforms and accuracy of legal trackers.
    • Ensure timely filing and execution of contracts.
  • Onboarding and Staffing Support:
    • Assist with employee onboarding process for creative and production personnel across self-produced productions.
    • Meet regulations for safe employment of children in productions and required reporting.
    • Manage operational aspects of auditions, sourcing staff and venue bookings.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Establish and maintain vendor relationships and payment processing.
    • Negotiate contracts for vendors such as audition venues and accommodation providers.
  • Travel Management:
    • Arrange travel for transfer crew, local production team and international team members.
    • Manage immigration requirements for production and creative staff.
  • Production Scheduling:
    • Schedule and timeline requirements for productions, including long-view strategy.
    • Update schedules, including overview planning and departmental schedules.
  • Marketing, PR and CSR Support:
    • Conduct market research for future seasons and cities of productions.
    • Assist with external events and functions, including invitation and gift lists.
  • Budget and Financial Management:
    • Update financial records and report internally and externally.
    • Process purchase orders, invoices and payments for production expenses.
    • Assist in budget tracking and flag overspend or additional costs.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of live theatre creative process and ability to manage personnel.
  • Minimum three years' experience in theatre industry with two years at production executive level.
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Effective communicator, able to handle confidential information.
  • Proactive, self-starter who can work independently.
  • Strong office skills, including Microsoft Office and scheduling software.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Lateral thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player contributing to an innovative work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Honesty and integrity in all interactions.
