Fleet Operations Division Overview

The Fleet Operations team leads fleet mechanical services and scheduled vehicle inspections to meet regulatory requirements and comply with the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) and Transport and Main Road (TMR) legislative guidelines.

The team provides repairs and maintenance services through the full lifecycle management and best practice approach to ensure all heavy, medium and light commercial fleet assets and equipment are fit for purpose and maintained to meet the complex environment in which they are deployed and utilised, and to meet operational capability and organisational objectives.

The role requires a highly skilled and competent Motor Mechanic Heavy Vehicle who will conduct repairs and scheduled maintenance of QFD fire appliances, pumps, systems and associated equipment to ensure they meet operational capability and comply with the requirements of the NHVR, the Queensland Transport Operations (Road Use Management - Road Rules) Regulations 2009 and the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 (the Act).

About this Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Motor Mechanic Heavy Vehicle and contribute to the delivery of safe and reliable fleet services. As a key member of the Fleet Operations team, you will be responsible for conducting repairs and scheduled maintenance of fire appliances, pumps, systems and associated equipment to ensure they meet operational capability and comply with regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced to meet the needs of the department. This includes diagnosing faults, completing job sheets and data entry, and adhering to workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
