Podiatry Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Podiatrist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently with limited supervision, providing high-quality care to residents in accordance with treatment plans and maximising quality of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that behaviour, communication, documentation, and practice comply with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Meet Aged Care Quality Standards when planning and delivering services.
  • Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Deliver care according to resident needs, goals, and preferences, promoting wellbeing, choice, and independence.
  • Model professional standards and conduct; maintain a healthy workplace culture as an Allied Health professional.
Personal Qualities
  • Provide primary podiatry including dermatological care, wound and ulcer management, dressings, nail and fracture care.
  • Continuously monitor and assess podiatry needs of residents and adjust programs as required.
  • Transport residents safely to and from appointments under physiotherapist direction.
  • Provide podiatry services respectfully, preserving dignity and privacy.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Identify and communicate risks in clinical care and act to manage risk.
  • Provide person-centred care and advocate for residents to support informed choices.
  • Fulfil duty of care and respond to unsafe or unprofessional practice.
  • Treat all residents with dignity and respect; interact in a kind, caring and respectful manner.
  • Respect residents' gender, identity, and culture; ensure inclusion in care and service delivery.
  • Support residents to make informed choices by providing information or seeking assistance as needed.
  • Assist residents to stay connected with local communities.
  • Encourage feedback and facilitate respectful, open communication regarding complaints.
About You

As a successful candidate, you will demonstrate empathy and kindness towards elderly and diverse individuals, with responsiveness to residents' needs and preferences.

You will require the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor or Postgraduate Degree in Podiatry or Podiatric Medicine.
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Evidence-based practice in care delivery.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work in a multi-skilled team and communicate with staff and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise; understanding of aging and advocacy for older people in residential care.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and desktop applications.
  • Police check clearance.
