The Clinical Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting the work activities of nurses, medical staff, and allied health staff in a ward/unit-based setting. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Provide timely and accurate administrative/transactional services for members of the healthcare team on designated wards/units.
- Work closely with existing administrative staff, such as ward clerks and communication officers, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Support the work activities of nurses, medical staff, and allied health staff, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
- Utilize computerized rostering systems, such as HealthRoster, to manage scheduling and workflow.
- Develop and maintain strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration.
- Excellent communication skills, including accurate spelling, good comprehension, and confidence in the spoken word.
- Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team.
