We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Get Curried in South Australia. Our restaurant offers authentic Indian cuisine in a fun and stylish atmosphere, and we are looking for someone who can showcase their culinary skills and passion for food in a growing hospitality business.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian cuisine and be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness in the kitchen, as well as contributing to the development of new menu ideas and specials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and adjusting temperature of cooking equipment
• Involvement in menu preparation, budgets, stock management, and ordering of supplies
• Maintaining sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
• Prepare and cook food according to patron's instructions and work on several different orders simultaneously
• Measure ingredients required for specific food items being prepared
• Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as deep-fat fryers and grills
• Checking prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity
• Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking various food items
• Organizing weekly specials in consultation with senior kitchen staff
• Clean, Stock, and Restock workstations
• Check freshness of food and ingredients
• Develop recipes and determine how to present the food to the customers

Requirements:

• AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• At least 2 years of work experience in Indian cuisine
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with other team members
• Ability to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and handle stress
• Able to commit beyond normal working hours as when required

Annual Salary: AUD 70,000 - 80,000
