Support Worker

As a Child Protection Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and safety of vulnerable adults. Your key responsibilities will include delivering high-quality care and support to meet the basic needs identified in individual support plans and risk assessments.
- You will be responsible for providing person-centered care that is tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of each service user, meeting individual outcomes and treating everyone with dignity, respect, and compassion.
- You will support the delivery of agreed plans of care, ensuring service users are supported safely and individual needs and service targets are met, meeting CQC fundamental standards.
- You will assist clients with their personal care as determined within their individual care plan, including activities such as dressing, washing, bathing, or shaving, toileting, getting in or out of bed, eating, drinking, taking medication, and communicating.
- You will monitor the progress of service users, being mindful of triggers for challenging behaviour, seizures, and acting appropriately in line with agreed guidelines, highlighting any changes in an individual's behaviour to the manager so that the support plans can be updated.
- You will provide support for individuals who may regularly place emotional demands on the jobholder, raising significant issues to the manager.
- You will work with senior officers to ensure that activities motivate and interest service users, providing a positive experience, contributing to the planning of daily activities and risk assessments.
- You will attend and contribute positively to meetings as requested by the manager, sharing the outcome of interactions with service users and highlighting issues that may have an impact on the review of the service user's case.
- You will ensure the accurate administration and recording of medication, following the Council's Medication policy, ensuring agreed protocols are followed when supporting an individual's personal care.
- You will ensure all records are updated and accurate, applying appropriate information security protocols when sharing and preparing information relevant to the service user's care.
