Assistant Financial Accountant

Our organization is seeking a skilled professional to provide financial and accounting support as an Assistant Financial Accountant. This role will be responsible for delivering high-quality corporate services, including financial management, tax compliance, and treasury functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, review, and reconcile ledger accounts, preparing accurate reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly financial statements and assist with collating statutory returns, including BAS, FBT, and Payroll Tax.
  • Support the maintenance of asset registers, processing additions, disposals, depreciation, and coordinating cyclical stock takes.
  • Assist with treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and administration of corporate cards and leasing programs.
Requirements:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification and at least two years of experience in a similar role, preferably with current membership of a professional accounting body.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial controls, accounting standards, and taxation legislation.
  • Strong computer literacy and reconciliation skills, with attention to detail and experience with computer-based financial systems.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with time management skills and ability to manage concurrent priorities.
