We're seeking an experienced Contract Specialist to join our high-performing Divisional Contracts and Commercial team based at our head office in Victoria Park, with occasional site travel. This role will see you supporting multiple sites, projects, and regions on fast-paced and high-value projects.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and negotiating subcontracts, administration, variation, and claims.
  • Participating in review and assisting with the administration, negotiation, and execution of variations and claims to client contracts and subcontracts.
  • Contract administration to support execution, including correspondence and contract notices and claims assessment.
  • Identifying and maximising cost and schedule saving opportunities.
  • Providing high-level written skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Involved in identifying and raising potential risks or issues.
  • Offering guidance and advice to relevant stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Interpreting contractual documentation and making recommendations for action.
  • Managing and building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.

In terms of qualifications and skills, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in contracts, preferably within the resources sector.
  • A degree in Business, Law, Engineering, or Quantity Surveying would be highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated understanding of current contract law, relevant legislation, and its application to the mining and oil and gas industries.
  • Strong knowledge of various contract models (lump sum, cost reimbursable, schedule of rates, etc.).
  • Adaptability to provide coverage for on-site contracts administrators during their annual and sick leave.
  • Sound proficiency in MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in similar work environments and ability to work autonomously as well as a proactive team member in a cooperative environment.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills for a diverse and challenging workload.
  • Ability to engage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers.

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
