About the Opportunity
This role offers a unique chance to take on a strategic position in employee relations, driving proactive initiatives and shaping the future of our operations. As a key member of our forward-thinking team, you will report directly to the Industrial Relations Manager and work from our freshly revamped South Bank head office.
You will be responsible for navigating industrial relations legislation while steering innovative, strategic employee relations initiatives that make a tangible difference across our national operations.
- Develop and implement enterprise bargaining strategies
- Provide expert industrial relations advice to Thiess sites
- Create tailored training programs to build capability across our teams
- Lead workplace investigations with confidence and expertise
- Contribute to group-wide employee relations strategies and compliance initiatives
- Offer guidance and advocacy for the business in responding to employment matters within Australian jurisdictions
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Drive collaborative relationships with trade unions to resolve industrial issues
- Foster professional interactions under applicable industrial instruments
- Manage complex and sensitive workplace matters with confidence and poise
To succeed in this challenging and rewarding role, you must possess a strong track record in IR/ER, underpinned by tertiary qualifications in law. Your experience should include leading and supporting enterprise bargaining negotiations, developing effective bargaining strategies, preparing documentation, and engaging stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
Experience representing employers before the Fair Work Commission is essential, particularly in matters involving enterprise agreements, workplace disputes, and broader employment law issues. A deep understanding of compliance requirements and relevant legislation is crucial to success in this role.
You should also be comfortable with union engagement and enterprise bargaining, possessing sharp investigative skills and the ability to manage complex and sensitive workplace matters with confidence.
