About This Role:

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to join our Group Procurement team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the procurement strategy for various categories, including Searches, Card Schemes, Card Products, Loyalty, Mail houses, Cash in Transit, Home Valuations and Settlements.

You will work closely with business leaders to develop, manage, and execute the agreed strategy, ensuring maximum value is delivered from external relationships.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and executing category plans that deliver value across the Business Banking and IB&M Business Unit.

  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure effective governance and compliance.

  • Delivering on agreed targets and objectives through the implementation of strategic or tactical procurement strategies/plans.

  • Developing effective performance management strategies across all relevant categories and major suppliers.

We're interested in hearing from individuals who have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in procurement or a related field.

  • University Bachelor's degree in a business field.

  • Prior experience in managing categories in a Financial Institution would be desirable but not mandatory.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage influence stakeholders and work collaboratively with customers and suppliers.

  • Demonstrated experience of all Procurement process disciplines across the procurement lifecycle, including Category Management.

  • Strong commercial and contract negotiation skills and experience;

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, able to work well in a team environment, and adhere to the highest ethical standards.

  • A growth mindset and willingness to challenge the status quo; and

  • A high degree of problem-solving and decision-making ability.
