Job Title: Research Operations Coordinator for Child Health Initiatives

Job Description:

The Child Health Research Unit is seeking a highly motivated and organised Research Operations Coordinator to oversee school and clinic-based assessments on 8-13 year old children, as part of the Barwon Infant Study Primary School Review.

This role involves contributing to the implementation and quality of the Barwon Infant Study Primary School Review, developing and maintaining team morale and function, effectively liaising with stakeholders to optimise project function, and working actively with groups of children and their families.

About the Role:

The Research Operations Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of research projects, managing day-to-day tasks, and providing administrative support to the research team. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work, be self-motivated, and work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research projects, including coordinating logistics and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide administrative support to the research team, including coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Work collaboratively with the research team to identify and resolve issues, and implement solutions to improve project efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with research ethics and governance requirements, and maintain accurate records of research activities.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary degree in a health, science, or related field, and/or demonstrated operations management skills in the execution of projects with strict adherence to standardised protocols (greater than 5 years).
  • Demonstrated project management skills in a professional environment, with a strong work ethic, attendance, and punctuality.
  • An interest in children and their families, and a passion for improving child health outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritise work, be self-motivated, and work independently.
  • Ability to establish warm, constructive working relationships with diverse groups, including health professionals, education professionals, and team members both internal and external organisations.
