About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Management Specialist to join our finance team. This role reports directly to the Finance Manager and is responsible for providing specialist financial services, including financial statement preparation, monitoring, analysis, and reporting in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and Local Government legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Develop and maintain the Long-Term Financial Plan, ensuring alignment with the Annual Plan and key financial performance indicators.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to senior management, facilitating informed decision-making.
  • Maintain accounting controls, fraud protection, and financial security measures, recommending policies and procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with senior management to enhance financial literacy across the organization.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or financial management, supplemented by extensive practical experience.
  • Proven ability to meet key responsibilities, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Current NT driver's license and high-level customer service skills.
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products and packages.
