About Diraq Pty Ltd

Diraq Pty Ltd is a pioneering quantum computing company that aims to redefine scalable quantum computing and bring practical commercial applications to the world. We are currently expanding our team to create an end-to-end quantum computing company – providing quantum hardware and software as a full stack, cloud accessible service.

Our Mission

We are committed to building a secure and reliable quantum computing ecosystem that enables the creation of significant economic returns across the value chain. Our proprietary technology, backed by 20 years of research and over USD $142M in funding across 11 patent families, allows us to scale using existing silicon CMOS manufacturing and existing foundries, to enable a faster and cheaper road to market.

Our Team

We are a team of world leading scientists, engineers, and business professionals who, with our existing IP and partnerships with global technical and commercial partners, will build the quantum ecosystem of the future. Our journey is more than just ambitious growth—it is the realisation of our vision, backed by the solid support of venture capital, and delivered by our remarkable team.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Cybersecurity to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for developing and executing Diraq's information technology and information security strategies. You will lead efforts to develop, maintain and protect our infrastructure, systems, data, and intellectual property by designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security frameworks, ensuring full compliance with relevant laws and regulatory requirements, minimising risks, safeguarding sensitive data, and maintaining the highest standard of security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with Diraq's business goals and risk tolerance, balanced with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish information security and data governance goals, policies, and protocols to safeguard critical assets, including systems, networks, and data.
  • Develop risk management strategies, evaluate potential risks and exposures in technology, and determine how to effectively minimise those risks.
  • Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of cybersecurity controls, ensuring they are integrated into the company's operations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, vulnerability scans and audits, proactively addressing potential security threats.
  • Oversee continuous monitoring & incident response efforts, ensuring thorough investigation, containment, and remediation of any security breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant information security laws, Defence Export and Trade controls, cybersecurity regulations, and industry standards.
  • Work with vendors and stakeholders to ensure proper information security measures and to implement the compliance plan aligned with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide expert guidance on ICT and information security across the company, including developing training and awareness initiatives at all levels of the organisation.
  • Develop and implement cyber-attack response policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing ICT and information security team.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and foster a collaborative working environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security or a related field.
  • Professional Certifications in Information Security (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CCISO, CISA).
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in leading and managing information security, ideally in a deep technology or government related organisation. Experience working in a start-up environment is a nice to have, but not required.
  • In-depth expertise in regulatory requirements and their impact on information security practices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of information security frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing effective information security programs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, and to convey complex security concepts to stakeholders.
  • A demonstrated knowledge in quantum technologies is a bonus, but not a necessity. The successful candidate should, however, have a genuine interest in emerging technologies.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals and world experts in the quantum computing field and a distinguished senior leadership team and Board.
  • The opportunity to work on projects that contribute to national security and technological advancement in the quantum computing field.
  • A dynamic, supportive, and innovative work environment with opportunities for personal and professional growth.
  • Exposure and education from leading experts in the ground-breaking technologies that are shaping the future of quantum computing.
