Job Description

This is a Permanent Part-Time / Temporary Part-Time and Casual position as an Operating Theatre Assistant at Calvary Health Care. The role involves assisting with patient transfers, positioning equipment, and maintaining a safe environment in the operating theatre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the transfer of patients to and from the Operating Theatre
  • Assist with transfers and positioning of patients in the operating theatre (once competency has been assessed)
  • Assist with the application of Diathermy plates and positioning equipment within the operating theatre suite (once competency has been assessed)
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by regularly dry/wet mopping before, during and after theatre lists
Requirements
  • Recent experience in an Operating theatre environment
  • Strong willingness to learn
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity
