Expert Planet Scientist and Educator

A planet expert with a strong passion for teaching is sought to join our esteemed academic community. We are looking for an individual who possesses in-depth knowledge of planetary science and expertise in STEM methodologies.
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled lecturer who can develop high-quality teaching programs in the new Space & Planetary Sciences major within the Bachelor of Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for lecturing at various undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as supervising student research projects.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering innovative and engaging teaching methods that enhance the student experience. They will also be required to contribute to the organisation, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching in our STEM methodologies unit presented to graduate engineering students.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver high-quality teaching programs in the new Space & Planetary Sciences major.
- Lecture at various undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Supervise student research projects at undergraduate, Honours and Master's levels.
- Contribute to the organisation, planning, delivery and evaluation of teaching in our STEM methodologies unit.
- Actively engage with the Planetary Science Discipline and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- PhD in Planetary Sciences or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated high-level teaching skills and a reflective approach to teaching delivery.
- A strong understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake unit coordination role, including for large units.
- Demonstrated ability or potential to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to developing a collegial and supportive working environment.
- 17% superannuation.
