About This Role:


We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in a key leadership role on the Acute Surgical Unit.



Job Description

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled nurse leader to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and lead our nursing team in the pursuit of excellence.




  • Develop and implement clinical standards and guidelines that support evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives;
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to junior staff members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and confidence;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement strategies that improve patient outcomes and satisfaction;
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care;
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and research in acute surgical nursing, applying this knowledge to inform clinical decision-making and education;


Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will need:




  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute surgical environment;
  • A Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent qualification;
  • Current registration with AHPRA without restriction;
  • A Postgraduate Certificate or higher in a relevant specialty (desired);
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team;
  • Excellent clinical expertise and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands;
  • Self-motivation and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement;
