We are seeking a highly skilled Conference Director to oversee all aspects of conferencing and events venues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Take direction from the Food & Beverage Manager, maintaining a proactive approach to deliver exceptional service.
  2. Direct, supervise, and coordinate operational activities within the hotel to ensure smooth and efficient functions.
  3. Ensure departmental compliance with policies, procedures, guidelines, and manuals to guarantee safety and profitability.
  4. Maintain accurate statistical records and reporting to track performance.
  5. Control departmental expenses within set targets to optimize business growth.
  6. Cultivate a sales culture, maximizing up-selling and on-selling techniques to increase revenue.
  7. Ensure effective communication within the department and with other departments for event planning and follow-up.
  8. Maintain stock levels to ensure all functions run smoothly and efficiently.
  9. Establish and uphold standards for back of house areas focusing on functionality and cleanliness.
  10. Conduct site inspections as necessary to identify areas for improvement.
  11. Ensure all charges are correctly posted to relevant accounts for functions.
  12. Manage hotel assets to protect their long-term value and maximize returns.
  13. Identify and optimize opportunities to improve the business and drive growth.
  14. Ensure team members are adequately trained to assist across venues daily.
  15. Maintain full knowledge of venue's computer/IT systems to stay up-to-date with technology.
  16. Supervise and assist colleagues to ensure high productivity and service standards.
  17. Support a positive service environment to meet and exceed guest and team member expectations.
  18. Proactively resolve issues to prevent complaints and maintain customer satisfaction.
  19. Implement quality control systems, including shift checklists and procedural revisions to ensure consistency.
  20. Stay updated with venue, hotel, and event information, communicating changes to the team.
  21. Report, review, and address incidents, injuries, and hazards with preventative measures to ensure a safe working environment.
  22. Promote venue properties to guests whenever possible to increase brand awareness.
  23. Act as a brand ambassador for the venue, hotel, and hospitality industry.
  24. Assist other departments and colleagues when needed to support the overall success of the business.
  25. Attend all scheduled meetings, training, and development programs to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  26. Provide efficient, friendly, and professional customer service to all guests to ensure a positive experience.
  27. Respect all guests and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds to foster a inclusive work environment.
