Conservation Professional

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Conservation Professional in Broome, Western Australia. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about conservation and has experience working on country.

About the Role

The Kimberley Region is a remote and complex landscape which is renowned for its natural beauty and cultural significance. As a Conservation Professional, you will be involved in various activities related to conservation, parks, and wildlife work, including prescribed burning, bushfire suppression and control, fauna and flora protection, construction and maintenance of infrastructure, support of tourism and recreational activities, and operation of associated machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in conservation and parks and wildlife work, including prescribed burning, bushfire suppression and control, fauna and flora protection, construction and maintenance of infrastructure, and support of tourism and recreational activities.
  • Operate associated machinery, including chainsaws, brush cutters, and common maintenance tools.
  • Liaise and interact in a positive manner with colleagues and stakeholders.
Selection Criteria
  • Aboriginality is a genuine requirement for this position with preference given to Yawuru community members or approved Yawuru applicants.
  • Experience or interest in working on country and ability to participate in manual activities related to conservation and recreation management.
  • Evidence of ability to liaise and interact in a positive manner, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
