Job Title: Midwife Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Midwife to join our team at a private hospital in Newcastle. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in various areas, including antenatal and postnatal wards, Maternity Assessment Unit, elective Caesarean list, Birthing Suite, and Special Care Nursery.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a midwife looking to develop their skills and experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be able to provide high standards of evidence-based midwifery care to women of varying ages and cultural groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver woman-centred care in the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods.
  • Work on the antenatal ward, Maternity Assessment unit, Birthing Suites, Postnatal ward, Cesarean lists, and/or in the beautifully renovated Special Care Nursery.
Requirements
  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Midwife.
  • Minimum of 2 years' recent experience working as a Registered Midwife in similar roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised woman-centred care.
  • Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional manner when working with complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work a seven-day roster including night duty.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.
