Job Title: Mental Health Specialist

Role Summary:

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health services to children and families in Tasmania. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver individual and group interventions, develop collaborative care partnerships, and contribute to ongoing quality and safety initiatives.

About the Role:
  • Deliver specialist mental health services to clients of Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, Adult Community, Inpatient and Extended Treatment, ward 4K Launceston General Hospital
  • Promote community awareness in relation to mental health
  • Provide clinical leadership and expert knowledge in primary health care
  • Develop and implement programs to improve client outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
  1. To undertake assessments, care planning and delivery of individual and group secondary level mental health interventions to children and families
  2. To develop and support collaborative care partnerships with service providers including across primary health, child health and parenting, paediatrics, child safety, education, and early childhood programs and services
  3. To collect and review client and service outcome data and participate in activities to improve client outcomes
  4. To contribute to continuing quality and safety, service development and improvement, and professional development processes and standards
Requirements:

The successful applicant must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Working with Children Registration
  • Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment
Desirable Criteria:

The following criteria are desirable:

  • Minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in an area relevant to the role
  • Postgraduate qualification or working towards a postgraduate qualification relevant to the role
  • Current Driver's Licence
