The Mental Health Division at Austin Health offers a range of services for infants, children, young people, adults, and older adults experiencing mental illness. Our team of experts provides assessment, intervention, and support to promote recovery and well-being.

We are seeking a skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (AIPU) and Youth Brief Intervention Service Teams. As a key member of our team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric services to young people, their families, and carers/support networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based psychiatric services to young people aged 12-25 years
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Conduct assessments, interventions, and consultations as required
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and service providers

Requirements:

  • Registered Medical Practitioner in Australia with AHPRA registration
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent postgraduate specialist qualification
  • RANZCP Certificate of Advanced Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent experience
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWC Check)
  • Detailed knowledge of triage and access systems to tertiary mental health services
