Clinical Manager Job Description

Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Manager to lead our primary health care team in a remote community setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and management to the primary health care team, ensuring high standards of clinical care and client flow.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery and cohesion among the team.
  • Ensure the clinic operates in a safe and efficient way, adhering to relevant legislation, guidelines, safety, and quality standards.
  • Manage the allocated budget and deliver upon Medicare requirements.
  • Participate in clinical patient care in peak periods of demand.
  • Lead by example to foster a positive workplace culture through good leadership practices and role modeling behavior.
Selection Criteria:
  • Eligible for registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a remote or regional community.
  • Excellent communication skills that build and lead a team to ensure excellent relationships internally and with external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of indigenous culture and social determinants of health.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse culture, where English is not their first language.
  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting and developing a Yolngu empowered workforce.
  • Experience managing conflict, performance issues, and in supporting teams to develop and grow in a challenging environment.
