Position Overview - Graduate Admissions Assistant
Department: Graduate & International Admissions
Role Summary:
Hourly Compensation: $16/hr
- Facilitates daily operations within the Graduate Admissions department and provides support to the Admissions team.
- Engages with prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Contributes to communication strategies, event organization, and outreach initiatives aimed at prospective graduate students utilizing the university's constituent relationship management (CRM) system.
- Ensures confidentiality regarding student interactions, meetings, correspondence, and documentation.
- Offers administrative assistance to the Graduate Admissions unit, including general office responsibilities such as answering phone calls and emails, data entry, reviewing and processing applicant documents, generating and editing reports, and attending meetings.
- Assists in the coordination and execution of Graduate Admissions events at various locations, providing support as needed.
- Maintains a professional appearance by adhering to staff attire guidelines.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Exhibits a positive attitude and friendly demeanor; demonstrates teamwork capabilities.
- Possesses basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills along with excellent customer service abilities.
- Displays meticulous attention to detail.
- Reliability is crucial; availability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends as required by departmental needs.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in good academic standing with a minimum GPA of 3.00.
- Availability to work up to 20 hours per week.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Experience in connecting students with campus resources.
- Knowledge of CRM systems.
- Experience with PeopleSoft software.
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
