About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an IT Support Officer. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our staff and ensuring that our systems, tools, and infrastructure are running smoothly.

  • Drive the IT Service Management (ITSM) function using ServiceNow across the business to ensure efficient management of staff, systems, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Be the local IT support contact for the Newcastle office, providing expert technical advice and assistance to colleagues.
  • Owning the IT Hardware procurement area, responsible for ordering all equipment required by the business.
  • Working closely with the Finance team to ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of IT & Technology related invoices and purchases.
  • Managing and maintaining the IT Hardware assets in the ITSM Asset Register, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records.
  • Continuously reviewing, evaluating, and optimising current processes for effective and efficient operation of the IT support function locally and globally.
  • Liaise with a variety of vendors on the procurement of equipment for all Australian offices, building strong relationships and negotiating the best deals.
  • Proactively manage the business' expectations through the IT support lifecycle, ensuring seamless communication and resolution of issues.
  • Act as a key conduit between the technical and non-technical teams within the business, fostering collaboration and understanding.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Professional experience in a technical support role within a corporate environment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • An IT/Business related degree and/or ITIL certification, demonstrating your expertise and knowledge in IT service management.
  • Experience with using ServiceNow ITSM, having previously utilised its capabilities to drive business efficiency.
  • Experience with IT hardware and asset procurement, having successfully managed budgets and negotiated with vendors.
  • Vendor management experience and working with 3rd party Suppliers, having built strong relationships and delivered results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong customer experience (CX) focus, ensuring clear and concise communication with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A team player with the initiative to work independently and autonomously, taking ownership of tasks and delivering high-quality results.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-moving environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
