About this opportunity:

You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing process solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

• Develop and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for gold or copper processing plants.
• Conduct mass and energy balances for new and existing operations.
• Support feasibility studies, scoping studies, and detailed engineering design.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including metallurgists, mechanical engineers, and project managers.
• Evaluate and select process equipment and technologies.
• Participate in HAZOP and risk assessments.
• Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up phases.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience in process design or plant operations within the mining sector (gold or copper).
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry, or Aspen Plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to travel to remote sites as required.
• Experience with Australian mining projects or operations.
• Knowledge of hydrometallurgical processes such as leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices and process decarbonization.
