Theatre Registered Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Theatre All-Rounder to fill a short-term placement opportunity. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for rotating through PACU (Recovery), Anaesthetics, and Scrub/Scout roles.

This is an ideal position for those who enjoy variety in their work and have recent experience across the full perioperative continuum. If you are a confident and competent professional with excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Rotate through PACU (Recovery), Anaesthetics, and Scrub/Scout roles

The successful candidate will have recent broad-based theatre experience and be comfortable working as part of a busy, regional hospital team. You will be required to participate in shift work, including 8- and 10-hour shifts, and may be expected to work overtime beyond the maximum 80 hours per fortnight.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Recent experience in a theatre setting across PACU, Anaesthetics, and Scrub/Scout
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency
  • Infection control training
  • Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK)
  • Manual and patient handling training
  • Aggressive behaviour management training
  • Mandatory reporting competency (child abuse and neglect)
  • Medication management knowledge
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
  • Previous experience in Queensland Health or similar Australian hospital settings
