Job Summary

As a Data Center Technician at Microsoft, you will play a critical role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for our online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures to quickly identify and resolve issues.
  • Set up and configure hardware deployments, ensuring proper grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling.
  • Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes, following standard procedures with minimal guidance.
  • Communicate and escalate incidents to appropriate Microsoft data center operations management units, Technician Leads, and engineering specialists.
  • Assist and provide guidance to other technicians to complete challenging or complex tasks.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, and basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
  • 1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • A minimum Baseline security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Applicable certifications: CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
