We are seeking a skilled Patient Service Representative to provide administrative coverage for patient service functions in our medical office. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
- Answer telephone calls and route accordingly.
- Receive and record changes in patient information.
- Demonstrate familiarity with insurance procedures and knowledge of participating plans.
- Ensure accurate recording of procedures and diagnoses on fee slips for charge entry.
- Schedule appointments for return visits and end-of-day procedures, and balance work and computer records.
- Compile data for billing personnel.
- Develop effective communication skills, including A-I-D-E-T fundamentals.
- Attend meetings as required and participate in committees as directed.
- Collaborate with patients, physicians, and other care team members to ensure seamless patient care.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding is required, with a minimum of one year experience in a medical office setting or three years of customer-facing experience.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a medical office setting or customer service role is essential.
