Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned financial professional to fill the role of Senior Accountant. This is a permanent full-time position that will involve providing high-level accounting and reporting services to support the organisation's financial needs.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Preparing and delivering accurate financial reports to stakeholders, adhering to established timelines;
  • Collaborating with the payroll department to ensure seamless recording of payroll transactions and regular reconciliations of related balances;
  • Liaising with international colleagues to reconcile inter-company accounts and manage foreign exchange movements;
  • Reviewing the work of junior staff members to ensure all entries are accurate and on time for monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting;
  • Maintaining the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts in accordance with the end-of-month timetable;
  • Supporting the statutory reporting process, including liaising with external auditors and completing the audit process in a timely manner;
  • Assisting with the budgeting process, collaborating with relevant stakeholders as needed;
  • Supporting the preparation and lodgement of GST and FBT returns, including calculations and reconciliations;
  • Providing cash flow reporting and forecasting services.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised accounting qualification;
  • Substantial experience in a similar role, preferably within a large and complex organisation;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
