Position Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist will provide extensive HR support to the manufacturing sector by serving as a reliable advisor to management and staff. This role will oversee and coordinate various HR processes and initiatives, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, payroll management, employee engagement, training and development, recognition programs, communication strategies, diversity and inclusion efforts, wellness initiatives, and influencing broader people strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition:
- Collaborate with the internal Talent Acquisition team to manage recruitment for the Supply Chain, from interviewing to onboarding.
- Guide Recruiting Managers on best practices for recruitment and selection, providing support as needed.
- Oversee the complete recruitment process for Manufacturing Team Members.
- Design and implement comprehensive onboarding programs for new hires.
- Evaluate and review compensation offers.
Employee Relations:
- Offer advice and support to Leaders in various HR areas, including performance management and employment relations.
- Handle employee relations issues, including investigations and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of enterprise agreements, providing guidance to employees and Team Leaders.
Payroll Management:
- Process weekly payroll exceptions and manage leave and overtime entries.
- Prepare payroll reports as needed.
Employee Engagement and Benefits:
- Assist in executing HR initiatives related to diversity, organization design, and employee development.
- Manage employee benefits, including coordinating product parcels and organizing celebrations.
Additional HR Responsibilities:
- Coordinate monthly HR reporting, including absenteeism and headcount.
- Maintain accurate employee records to support digitization efforts.
- Assist in preparing reports for compliance purposes.
- Support wellness programs and develop initiatives to enhance employee engagement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of HR experience.
- Strong understanding of employment law and experience in a unionized environment.
- Proven experience in performance management and employee relations.
- Self-motivated with strong initiative and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as an HR Advisor in a manufacturing context.
- Familiarity with Google Suite and HR systems.
