The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the on-site construction staff, including subcontractors, and their various disciplines.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Ensuring compliance with OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times
  • Organising on a daily and weekly time frame the sequencing of the on-site activities ensuring that the subcontractors have access to their work face for materials and equipment
  • Assisting the Site Manager and reporting on a daily basis, site activities which could result in points of delay, safety problems, industrial unrest, and taking necessary action to avert problems
  • In consultation with the Project Manager, allocating necessary site staff and resources and confirming that all the resources for the project will be available when required
  • Reviewing the construction programme with the Site Manager, re-sequencing of the activities as necessary to achieve the programmed completion date

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in building/construction, or other recognised tertiary or trade qualification in a construction related field
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills
  • Proven high level of professionalism, maturity and candour in daily work ethic
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location.
