Electrical Maintenance Specialist

The role of the Electrical Tradesperson is crucial in ensuring the maintenance and repair of locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure meet safety and reliability standards.
This position supports the efficient operation of freight services by:
- Performing routine and corrective maintenance and fault repairs using best practices.
- Complying with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) regulations and technical specifications.
- Keeping accurate records and documentation of asset conditions, maintenance activities, and costs.
- Reporting completed work against the scheduled program.
- Contributing to the development and enhancement of work procedures for continuous quality improvement.
- Maintaining and repairing electrical systems on locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure.
- Performing routine and corrective maintenance and fault repairs using best practices.
- Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) regulations and technical specifications.
- Keeping accurate records and documentation of asset conditions, maintenance activities, and costs.
- Reporting completed work against the scheduled program.
- Proficient in computer use.
- Possesses strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in repairing and maintaining locomotives and rolling stock is highly valued.
- Demonstrates robust fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Knowledgeable in relevant legislation, including the Workplace Health and Safety Act.
