Job Description: Technology Solutions Designer

Perenti Group is seeking an experienced Technology Solutions Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software and infrastructure solution design, with a focus on large-scale environments.

As a Technology Solutions Designer, you will be responsible for evaluating business needs and determining how IT can support those needs through the design and implementation of software and infrastructure solutions. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of enterprise solution architecture, including finance and HR business processes and technologies. Experience with cloud-based solutions, particularly Microsoft Azure, is highly desirable.

The role will be based in the Perth CBD, and the successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and inclusive team that values diversity and promotes a collaborative working culture.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the creation of Corporate Technology's IT strategy
  • Align the IT strategy with the organisation's goals for the next 3 years
  • Translate business, functional and non-functional requirements into solution designs and ensure alignment with customer expectations
  • Provide guidance and direction for implementing 'The Perenti Way'
  • Identify potential solution options, enhancements, and recommendations
  • Define and design technology solutions to assist the business in meeting their objectives

  • Build and maintain relationships with team members and other stakeholders
  • Seek and obtain feedback from stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and that service provision meets expectations

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Considerable knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of software and infrastructure solutions across a large environment
  • Strong ability to identify opportunities and inefficiencies in IT infrastructure
  • Experience in infrastructure and network solution design
  • Knowledge of the challenges of remote sites, specifically remote mining sites
  • Experience designing, migrating and implementing cloud-based solutions with Microsoft Azure
  • Strong background in enterprise solution architecture, with experience in finance and HR business processes and technologies
  • Safety-first mindset

Desirable Criteria:

  • Familiarity with iServer 365 is a plus but not mandatory
  • Prior experience in the mining/resources sector is highly regarded but not essential
  • Experience implementing and use of Infrastructure as a Service (AWS) is a plus but not mandatory
  • Familiarity and commitment to the Perenti principles, including 'No shortcuts', 'Never wasteful', 'Walk in their shoes', 'Smarter together', and 'Enable tomorrow'
