About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Commissioning Officer to join our supportive and knowledgeable Victorian commissioning team. The Senior Commissioning Officer is a hands-on role with broad technical knowledge and experience working on substation projects that play a key part in Australia's transition to net Zero.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead brownfield and greenfield 22kV-500kV Substation project testing and commissioning activities.
  • Plan and execute outage activities.
  • Track and report progress according to the project commissioning schedule.
  • Conduct protection and control relay testing.
  • Perform switchgear, CT & VT testing.
  • Test IEC61850 systems.
  • Manage drawings, ITPs, and defects/RFIs.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.
  • Provide diagnostic testing and maintenance services on a wide variety of electrical protection and control relays & equipment.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have previous experience in a similar role working on complex brownfield and greenfield projects, including:

  • Qualifications in an Advanced Diploma of ESI Power Systems or Electrical Engineering Degree.
  • Australian transmission/distribution network experience.
  • Significant VESI/Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) experience in commissioning.
  • Relevant training in line with VESI.
  • Ability to identify critical resources and act decisively to ensure works are performed safely and meet required time and cost objectives.
  • Proficiency in the operation of Doble secondary injection test equipment and other primary plant test equipment.
  • Experience with IEC61850 projects is desirable.
  • Comfortable with travel and working outside of Melbourne.
