Academic Teaching Opportunities in Health Data Science

The University of New South Wales is seeking expressions of interest from qualified individuals for casual teaching opportunities in the Master of Science in Health Data Science program.
About the Role
As a casual academic, you will provide teaching support to the course convenors, contributing to the delivery of high-quality education to students. Your duties may include demonstrating in tutorials, workshops or practical classes, marking assignments, and other miscellaneous course-related activities.
We are looking for motivated and experienced academics with expertise in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, or a related discipline. You should possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively with students and course convenors, and have proficiency in software applications commonly used in teaching.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in a relevant field, such as statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, data science, or a related discipline;
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate efficiently with students and course convenors;
- Proficiency with software applications commonly used in teaching, including Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams) and learning management systems like Moodle;
- Commitment to follow the UNSW Code of Conduct;
- Willingness to complete Workplace Health & Safety training and other relevant training as required by the university before commencing work.
The estimated annual salary for this position is around AU$80,000 - AU$100,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a casual appointment, and the actual number of hours worked will vary according to the needs of the department.
