Support Teacher for Students with Disabilities

At All Saints' College Maitland, we're seeking three permanent full-time Learning Support Teachers to join our team in 2025. Our college is a co-educational year 7-12 Catholic school part of the Maitland Newcastle Diocese system.

The Learning Support Teacher has a unique role to play in ensuring each child grows both academically and spiritually. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with identifying students with special educational needs and collaborating with parents, colleagues, and external providers
  • Delivering intervention and teaching students as specified by the Leader of Learning Support/Learning Support Coordinator
  • Collaborating with class teachers and other relevant personnel to design and implement adjustments for students with disability
  • Working collaboratively with other Learning Support personnel and contributing to staff professional development and parent education programs

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A clear understanding of and commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church through Catholic schools
  • Experience working with students with disabilities (7-12)
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders
  • Experience in delivering professional learning for staff and parents

Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
