
Lead Design Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Design Specialist to join our team. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for coordinating overall design activities, project submission schedules, and QA/QC duties to ensure the final product meets technical requirements and client goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform independent planning and design tasks, review work of others, prepare construction documents, and successfully deliver projects.
- Handle technically complex projects.
- Maintain collaborative relationships within the project team.
- Possess knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Perform final QA/QC review of project submissions.
- Develop schedules, technical proposals, and labor hour estimates.
- Work closely with project teams to describe and deliver scope of work.
- Support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve deliverables and reduce errors.
- Perform design calculations, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
- Develop and maintain design budgets for complex scopes of work.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in relevant Engineering from an ABET-accredited school, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum of 12 years' job-related experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of the A/E industry and ability to resolve complex design and construction issues quickly.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation/InRoads, Hydrologic and Hydraulic Software, or similar programs.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and deliver innovative solutions.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to technical excellence.
- Proactive in staying current with industry standards and emerging technologies.
