Student Services Officer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and culturally sensitive individual to join our team as a Student Services Officer. This is a 2-year fixed-term opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

About the Role

As a Student Services Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to attend the University of Adelaide. You will work under general direction to provide specialist advice and support to students, ensuring their successful retention, progression, and graduation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement culturally responsive strategies to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • Provide academic, professional, and pastoral support to students
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address the social issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander higher education students
  • Deliver education programs and activities to support student success
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Knowledge of higher education policies, programs, and resources available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • Knowledge of the broad range of services students may access while studying at the University
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of education programs and activities
