ETL Developer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ETL developer to join our team in Adelaide. As an ETL developer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing robust ETL processes to facilitate the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources into our data warehouse or other target systems.


Job Responsibilities
  • Communicate with business analysts and subject matter experts to define, understand and document business requirements.
  • Design, code and document complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, using agreed standards and tools, delivering well-engineered results.
  • Identify and manage risks that are likely to affect delivery of system releases.
  • Develop estimates of effort and duration for development tasks, monitor own progress and continually improve estimating accuracy.
  • Report on progress, anomalies, risks and issues associated with allocated development tasks.
  • Contribute technical expertise to requirements analysis to enhance the quality of solution design and to improving solution processes within the organisation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an ETL developer using DataStage, SQL, TOAD/DB Visualizer and DWH.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS databases such as DB2, data modeling and experience in dimensional modeling.
  • Knowledge of DataStage Administrator components and experience using JIRA in an Agile environment.
  • Proven experience in the planning and execution of projects.
  • Relevant qualification in information management, ICT, IT or related discipline.
