Perigon Group is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Team Leader to join their team in Brisbane. As a critical permanent role, this position will support the Financial Controller and business departments through managing the Australia payroll function and supporting on projects & initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the end-to-end payroll function for employees across 6 entities
- Manage year-end payroll tasks, including STP reporting, year-end payroll reporting, and international payroll requirements
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of the payroll system
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to the payroll team
- Develop and conduct training sessions across the organization
- Maintain up-to-date policies, procedures, and processes
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and simplify payroll processes
- Lead the identification, scoping, and implementation of system enhancements
- Collaborate with Finance, HR, and IT teams
- Tertiary qualifications in Payroll, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience leading a high-performing payroll team
- 5+ years of experience processing complex end-to-end payroll
- 5+ years of experience in the EOFY payroll process
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Working knowledge and understanding of relevant payroll legislation
