About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Frontend Engineer to join our Conversational Editing team at Canva. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing prototypes that enhance the user experience and seamlessly integrate AI into core editing actions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy solutions and hands-on software development to deliver features and experiments to our customers worldwide.
  • Work closely with leads, designers, and product managers to drive the development of prototypes that continually enhance the user experience.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and advocate for engineering needs to non-technical team members within the group.
  • Model initiative and ownership in achieving goals, improving processes, and solutions.
  • Finds opportunities for cross-team collaboration to work on new insights and improvements that help achieve our goals.

Requirements

  • Technically versatile with diverse experience in frontend tech stacks.
  • Experience with TypeScript, React, MobX, and other state management libraries.
  • Experience working in an Agile (Scrum) team.
  • Flexible and creative view of building delightful user experiences.
  • Experience coaching/guiding other engineers and acting as a mentor.
  • Passion for producing new designs and prototyping for quick turnarounds of early-stage ideas.
