About the Role

EnerSys Delaware Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Service Technician II - Energy Systems Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Services team, you will be responsible for providing technical services relating to Motive Power Battery building and Motive Power service to Enersys quality standards.

Main Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Account for all stock under your control, maintain and report accurate stock levels, verify inventory by comparing to physical counts of stock, investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Service and Warranty Jobs: Ensure all labour, materials, products, parts, used on service or warranty jobs are booked out by computer or manual systems.
  • Equipment Operation: Use equipment provided including forklift equipment in accordance with manufacturers recommendations and as per safety guidelines.
  • Logistics and Delivery: Liaise with courier and delivery companies where required.
  • Stock Management: Pack and unpack goods in an orderly and accessible manner or according to advised systems.
  • Stock Identification: Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps or other labelling equipment as required.
  • Maintenance and Inspections: Complete maintenance logs and conduct daily / weekly inspections as requested on Stores equipment and facilities and motor vehicle, e.g. forklift, trolleys, pathways, exit access etc to ensure that compliant and safe operating standards are maintained.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety and company regulations.
  • Storage and Handling: Determine proper storage methods in vehicle, identification and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Record Keeping: Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
  • Quality Control: Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisor.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Keep service vehicle in good order, clean and report any damage or issue to supervisor.
  • Vehicle Maintenance Scheduling: Advise supervisor when service vehicle is due for maintenance service.
  • Disposal and Return: Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors as directed.
  • Inventory Reporting: Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued from your service vehicle.
  • Procurement and Availability: Confer with purchasing personnel and vendors regarding stock procurement and availability.
  • Inventory Disposal: Recommend disposal of excess, defective, or obsolete stock in your vehicle.
  • Equipment Handling: Use safe handling methods when handling any equipment.
  • Team Support: Provide assistance or direction to other staff when time permits within reason.
  • Battery Rebuilding: Rebuilding of Motive Power Batteries as required by following the provided bill of materials to ensure all batteries and chargers are built to meet customer expectations and to EnerSys quality standards.
  • Battery Servicing and Testing: Servicing and testing of Motive Power batteries as required.
  • Non-Conforming Product Identification: Assist in identifying Non-Conforming Product (NCP) and ensuring it is moved to a quarantined area when identified and cannot be misused in production.
  • Battery Maintenance: Follow battery maintenance programs to ensure all battery products are kept at a high state of charge to prolong battery shelf life.
  • Project Participation: Take part in various projects or initiatives as assigned by management including continuous improvement programs.
  • Stocktake Assistance: Assisting in stocktakes including investigating causes for inaccurate stock levels.
  • General Housekeeping: General Housekeeping ensuring that warehouse areas and motor vehicle are kept clean and stock is put away.
Requirements
  • Customer Service Experience: 4-6 years of previous customer service experience in field support.
  • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Internet.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Hand and Power Tools: Previous experience working with hand and power tools.
  • Communication and Literacy: Able to read with comprehension and write documents (such as customer correspondences, memos, and reports) in English.
  • Mathematical Skills: Able to perform basic math such as add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Problem Solving: Able to solve simple equations.
  • Electrical Experience: Experience should be substantively in the Electrical related field.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate/Diploma: Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical/Electronic/Electrical or related if the application for location.
  • Basic Electrical Understanding: A basic electrical understanding.
  • Test Equipment and Schematics: The use of test equipment and reading schematics.
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on job experience.
  • Electrical Experience: Experience should be substantively in the Electrical related field where applicable.
Ideal Candidate
  • Australian Driver's Licence: A Current Australian Driver's Licence – preferably MR level.
  • Forklift Licence: Forklift Licence.
  • Communication and Literacy: Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Problem Solving and Organisation: Basic skills in: Problem solving, Organisation, Communication & interpersonal skills, and Computer literacy – Microsoft Office / Windows environment.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritise workload.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work as part of a team, with or without supervision.
  • Truck Licence: Truck license to operate Hino 300 (desired, not essential).
  • Technical Background: Some technical or trades background would be advantageous to enable the candidate, with appropriate training, to be able to support the Motive Power activities, in particular the building and transportation of batteries for Motive Power customers.
  • Practical Experience: Practical experience in general workplace safety.
  • Computerised Systems: Computerised systems experience.
  • Physical Fitness: Physically fit.
  • Manual Handling and OHS: Manual handling and OHS knowledge.
  • Numeracy Skills: Good numeracy skills.
  • Customer Service: Delivery of excellent customer service and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills.
  • Time Management and Multi-tasking: Able to multi-task and time-manage effectively.
  • Results Orientation: Results orientation and ability to achieve desired results in a professional manner within agreed deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility with working hours including the ability to work after hours and travel interstate when and if required with reasonable notice.
