About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join our Dispute Resolution team, working on public law litigation matters. The public sector practice is a national priority of Hall & Wilcox and is rapidly growing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with the lead partner in our public sector industry group, as well as senior practitioners in the public sector disputes practice to run matters directly with counsel and the client through to trial.
  • Act on behalf of, and advise, all levels of government on a diverse range of administrative law and commercial dispute matters.
  • Draft court documents, advices, briefs to counsel and correspondence.
  • Provide specialist legal advice on complex legal issues, including statutory interpretation, administrative law, compulsory acquisition and commercial disputes.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of post-admission experience.
  • A background in public law disputes, with a strong academic record.
  • Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills, with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The willingness to supervise and mentor junior members of the team as appropriate.
  • The ability to confidently run matters through the dispute resolution process, as well as the ability to handle a busy workload with competing timelines.
