About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Lead Specialist to join our team at John Holland. As a key member of our project leadership team, you will play a vital role in implementing and controlling Work Health & Safety Management requirements, strategies, and initiatives across a workplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety cultures that align with the company vision, ensuring adequate development and training in safety-critical roles.
  • Maintain robust risk management processes, capability, focus, and discipline related to safety.
  • Ensure projects comply with the John Holland Safety Management System.
  • Investigate causes of events on site and recommend actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide specialist support to internal stakeholders, including operational leaders, project employees, contractors, clients, and visitors.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience as a Safety Manager working across the entire project lifecycle.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Advanced Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Safety Lead Auditor Qualification.
  • Construction safety management (5+ years) experience.
  • Audit management practices (2-3+ years) experience.
  • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.
  • Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes and ability to interpret relevant statutes or legislation.
