Job Overview

Rapiscan Systems, a leading security screening provider, is seeking an Electromechanical Assembly Specialist to perform precision electromechanical assembly operations on subassemblies for six different instrument types. The successful candidate will assemble, disassemble, repair, connect and solder wires and connectors according to engineering specifications and sketches.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, including knowledge of hand tools such as soldering equipment, screwdrivers, wrenches, and heat guns. IPC-A-610 and JSTD-001 certification is highly desirable. Experience operating in a lean manufacturing environment and working in a clean, contaminant-free environment utilizing gloves during assembly operations is essential.

Responsibilities

- Perform general assembly on subassemblies using appropriate assembly procedures
- Test subassemblies in electronic test fixtures
- Solder wires, PCBs, and subassemblies
- Learn and perform basic troubleshooting protocols and rework for non-conforming units
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in handling priority changes
- Meet expected daily production requirements

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years' experience assembling electromechanical devices and subassemblies
- Strong understanding of workmanship standards and quality control procedures including compliance for ESD
- Ability to work comfortably with Microsoft Office Suite
