As the Engineering Manager - Unit Plant within the Engineering and Project Team, you will lead a team of skilled engineers responsible for the asset management and technical support of the boiler and turbine facilities. This position involves developing long-term asset strategies, defining outage scopes, creating budgets for maintenance and capital projects, and ensuring compliance with engineering, quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Formulating, managing, and refining asset management strategies to achieve performance targets while addressing increasing demands for flexibility and availability.
  • Overseeing issue identification, diagnostic processes, and improvement initiatives aligned with operational reliability standards.
  • Creating and approving maintenance and capital outage plans, as well as evaluating proposals for new equipment and modifications to existing systems.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of specialized engineers by providing effective leadership, technical guidance, and support.
  • Ensuring all plant asset systems adhere to internal and external safety standards and acting as a proactive safety advocate within the organization.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field, with a preference for postgraduate qualifications in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of heavy industry operations, particularly in power generation, along with strong analytical skills to tackle complex challenges.
  • Proven ability to coordinate work and manage teams effectively, demonstrating leadership in high-pressure situations with competing priorities.
  • Capability to hold team members accountable for meeting critical deadlines while promoting a culture of well-being and flexibility.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with various levels of management and external stakeholders.
